印地安人總教練Terry Francona表示，自己的理念是「保留現狀」，總經理Mike Chernoff也說希望能用目前的骨幹打造一支常年有競爭力的隊伍，因此下一個賽季部落的陣容顯然還是以今年為主，這就讓他們面對同分區的對手時，有了一些優勢。
大聯盟官網指出，目前同區的對手中，白襪已明確表示他們正在重建；老虎渴望處理手上的一些大約，顯然不是將注意力擺在下個賽季；皇家在2015年奪冠後，班底快速流失，競爭力不若以往；而雙城隊目前正在進行轉型，他們下一季都很難對印地安人造成威脅。
但是目前印地安人仍有一些調整會牽動明年球季的狀況，其中又以「EE」的到來最為重大，能不能將這位重砲的威力發揮到最大化，會是明年球季的關鍵。不過這並不容易，因為為了得到EE，表示過去支撐球隊長打火力的Mike Napoli很可能即將離開，若印地安人不能補上他的空缺，那今年世界大賽打線「熄火」的問題可能會更加嚴重。
